S2, Ep. 8: Veronica Lockett’s Testimony

There are some people in our world whose very existence is a whole master class in resilience: People whose story makes clear for the rest of us all the many things there are to be grateful for. Veronica Lockett, an Austin-area attorney at law (in addition to her law degree, she holds a bachelor’s degree AND a master’s degree in social work) probably would not have volunteered to suffer through so much of her childhood and teenage years so that we could see our lives through hers and be moved to count our blessings. Yet, here she is, recounting for us a tale of woe that would, understandably, do so many people in. And, here we are, marveling at the graces we take for granted. This beautiful, brainy, hilarious, ambitious, and huggable being is a survivor. And, she’s got one hell of a testimony.
