S2, Ep. 5: Ending Generational Poverty

If poise, generosity, and empathy were gold, Phyllis Everette would be wealthy beyond belief. Alas, our system relies on cold-hard cash — something Phyllis lacked in adequate supply in her youth. She would grow up, marry, and give birth to three children. Her husband was abusive, she says. And so, with kids in tow, Phyllis mustered up the courage to flee. What followed was an existence wherein many days were a struggle to survive. Today, Phyllis is the successful Founder and CEO of Saffron Trust Women's Foundation which works to end generational poverty while helping mothers who are facing hard times not only survive, but thrive. This nurturer is doing all the things that earth angels do. Here, Phyllis tells us her story, and explains how she's helping women design their destiny.
