S2, Ep. 1: Black Is Beautiful
Despite American society’s historic warped standard of beauty, Austinite Shay Andry grew up knowing she was loved, and hearing that she was beautiful. This positive reinforcement set her up for success as a fashion model who has appeared in ads and walked runways in the U.S. and around the world. Not every young, Black girl receives the kind of empowering love and support afforded to Shay. So, this striking Queen is using her skills to help young Black girls and women cultivate self love. In this episode, we discuss Shay's take on self worth, her work with the Miss Juneteenth Texas pageant, and how Black women are OWNING their natural beauty.
